Sandunes ft: Ramya Pothuri – The Surge

Drawing on the evocative imagery of “The Surge feat. Ramya Pothuri”, Mital’s visual interpretation of the music seamlessly weaves the vast desert landscape together with the auditory tapestry created by Sandunes and led by Ramya’s captivating vocals. At its core, the video pays homage to the groundbreaking techniques of the 1970s Rutt Etra synthesizer—a pioneering form of analog video synthesis known for its ability to manipulate scan lines in video footage. Extending this technique, Mital creates a pulsating canvas echoing the depth and rich hue of the desert expanses detailed in “The Surge”. As the lines contort, mimicking the form of entangled vines and complex patterns, there’s a palpable sense of colors draining and shifting—much like the transient nature of wet paint on a sun-soaked canvas. The culmination? An ever-evolving digital landscape, where each frame transports viewers into a mesmerizing interplay of scan lines that evoke both the arid vastness of deserts and the boundless depth of oceans.
